On Treasure Island’s opening night, Steve Wynn was promoting not only his new project but also his next one all while completed a film that was released to TV to advertise the family friendliness of the Treasure Island. The movie was called “Treasure Island – the Adventure begins”. It followed a boy around the property as he got into a make believe adventure looking for the lost Dunes Treasure. The infamous pirate ship cannon shot that started the implosion of the Dunes was filmed and used in the film. It used to have it’s own channel at Treasure Island where the movie played constantly. This week’s winner goes to @vespajet’s for his photo of the new D signage downtown. For all we’ve said negatively about the name, they’ve done a great job with this property including the signage. I’ve been hard on them looking through the prism of history but as it has been proven many times before, you can over come a lot, including a bad name, with a superior product and they certainly have that at The D.
