Terribles was called the Continental when it opened in 1975. The Herbst Family owned a slot route as well as a bunch of convenience stores locally called Terrible Herbst. Eventually they purchased the Continental out of bankruptcy and reopened it in Dec 200 and thus named it Terribles. (Access Vegas)
Vegas Mate Review of the Week
Carol’s May 28th review of Harrah’s – 4/5 chips
This week’s winner is @christievanover for a pic that she shared for the 3 planets, Venus, Jupiter and Mercury she capture displayed in the sky. What I loved about it was the dream-like utopia known as the strip at sunrise. She got it all. Mandalay and Strat as well as all the colors each property uses to draw your attention including the Luxor beam. I didn’t even notice the planets of the mountain silhouette until I read her twitter post. This is what I imagine I will see in my final moments as I shift loose the mortal coil. This picture may find its way, framed and on my office wall.
