This week’s winner comes to us, once again, from friend of the show @johncolsonphoto, this time, for a picture of the Mirage signage with the Mirage volcano erupting in front of Treasure Island in the background. This photo looks like something you could have bought as a post card when Steve Wynn still owned both of these properties as part of some cross promotion. The setting looks so perfect and yet juxtaposition when you register that you aren’t seeing the volcano in front of her property but instead her former sister property. Something about the simple cursive font the mirage uses, lit up at night as well as the new fire elements of the volcano really captures my attention. The way they contrast with the black surroundings at night makes this one of those things that I could allow myself to get hypnotized by in a place that has something designed to draw your attention every 20 feet.
