This week’s winner comes to us from @WynnLasVegas for a really nice picture of the Wynn & Encore towers set against a dark blue sky at sunrise. It’s interesting that the man who reinvented Vegas with the Mirage could arguably be blamed for ruining it with Bellagio, followed by Wynn & Encore. Not intentionally but he has always been so far ahead of the curve that he is usually copied by the competition until a concept is run into the ground. Think about this, the luxury property concept Wynn has not evolved past since Bellagio is the reason why the new Frontier, Stardust, Fontainebleau and to a lesser extent Sahara are closed. People saw that Wynn properties and their luxury concept seem to be able to print cash. However Wynn’s properties aren’t considered the best because of the field of dreams mantra “build it and they will come”, it’s by being innovative. Luckily the economy stopped the overbuilding of the high end and brought everybody back down to earth and forced them to rethink everything. These two buildings are not only stunning but they represent the end of an era, was well as the new end of the strip, at least until another innovator comes to Vegas.
