When built, NYNY was the tallest building in Las Vegas. Eventually surpassed by Wynn in 2005, then Palazzo, then Trump Tower, then Encore and now the unfinished Fontainebleau (sincitytalk.com)
Twitpic of the week
It’s a time before my time in a place that has come to define me. When Tuxes and Gowns ruled the landscape and wife beaters where worn under your button up and not as a fashion statement/problem-solving worldview. When slot machines were made of steel, as shared by @jmarkpatton, and regarded as something to keep simple minded women busy instead of nagging while the men handled the work of real gambling at the tables. Once upon a time, not so long ago racism was colorful and widely accepted while drinks were served to you in glass and not plastic phallic symbols. Some would refer to it as a better time and who are we to argue with them. Well, women, gays, blacks, Asians, Latinos…basically everyone not male and white have a right to weigh in on that statement.
